Potato Halva

Sweet delicious easy to make potato halva is a very satisfying dessert. it is also a very well known offering for God on Maha Shivratri since no grain or pulses are to be eaten and only fruits and certain veggies are to be consumed.
Growing up we always had it on various occasion and festivals.I still keep the tradiotion going and my kids just love it.

Potato Halva
















Ingredients:
2 medium potato
3tb spoon clarified butter
1/2 cup milk
3/4 cup sugar
1/8 cup Dry Fruit Mix
Slivered Almonds for garnish

Method:
  • Wash and boil the potatoes.
  • Peel and mash them.
  • In a heated wok add clarified butter.
  • To it add the mashed potatoes.
  • Keep stirring and and cooking until golden brown.

  • Add Milk and keep stirring until the milk is absorbed by potatoes.

  • Add the Dry Fruit Mix to the potatoes.
  • Stir it and add sugar to it.
  • Let it cook until the sugar is dissolved and incorporated into the halva.

  • Transfer it into the serving dish and garnish it with slivered almonds.
